Bellevue Named Most Improved Driving City in U.S.

405 Freeway Bellevue

Bellevue has been recognized as the most improved driving city in the nation, according to the 2025 Allstate America’s Best Drivers Report. The city jumped 133 spots since 2015, now ranking #41 out of 200 of the country’s most populous cities analyzed.

According to Allstate, Bellevue drivers now average 10.58 years between collisions, compared to 7.1 years in 2015—an increase that places Bellevue ahead of the national average of 10.56 years.

The report, based on Allstate’s auto insurance claims data, analyzed property and collision damage claims from January 2022 to December 2023. The ranking compares the likelihood of collisions across the 200 largest U.S. cities, as determined by U.S. Census Bureau data.

While Brownsville, TX took the top spot for safest drivers, Bellevue led the nation in overall improvement over the past decade. The Pacific Northwest as a whole saw significant progress, with Portland, OR and Anchorage, AK also among the most improved cities.

Allstate first launched its Best Drivers Report in 2005. This year’s edition compares current data to that published in 2015 to highlight major changes in driving safety nationwide.
