With the 2026 FIFA World Cup expected to bring thousands of soccer fans to the region, the City of Bellevue is inviting local businesses and organizations to take part in the excitement.
The city will host an informational meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Bellevue City Hall. The session is open to small businesses, artists, cultural groups, nonprofits, and creative entrepreneurs who are interested in hosting World Cup-themed events along the 2 Line corridor.
These community “activations” will take place on six match days in June and July 2026, coinciding with the World Cup games in Seattle. Grants and other support will be available through organizations including the Bellevue Downtown Association and Visit Bellevue.
The city is looking for creative, inclusive, and globally inspired ideas that capture the spirit of the tournament. Organizers hope these events will bring energy and fun to Bellevue, engaging both visitors traveling on the 2 Line and locals staying close to home.
At the Oct. 22 meeting, attendees will have the chance to meet city staff and community partners, learn more about funding opportunities and timelines, and share their own ideas for World Cup celebrations. A soccer-themed mixer will follow the presentation.
