New Bubble Tea Shop HeChaLou Opens in Bellevue’s Spring District

HeChaLou Tea House & Jelly has opened a new bubble tea shop at 1351 121st Ave NE in Bellevue’s Spring District, marking the Taiwanese chain’s second location in Washington state. A grand opening celebration is set for Saturday, July 25, with all drinks discounted 10% for the day.

The Bellevue shop joins HeChaLou’s existing Washington location in Lynnwood, which opened in summer 2025. The brand made its U.S. debut in California in 2024 before expanding north.

What’s on the menu

HeChaLou specializes in Taiwanese milk tea, loose leaf tea, fruit tea, and slushies, alongside classic bubble tea staples like pearl milk tea. Signature items include the brown sugar pearl matcha latte, house blend pearl milk tea, and toffee matcha. The shop also serves tea lattes, tea jellies, and a sesame jelly, along with food items including egg puffs and bubble waffles.

The tea jelly is the brand’s most distinctive product. According to HeChaLou, the jelly is designed to add texture to each drink while preserving what the company describes as tea’s naturally sweet flavor without bitterness.

Brand background

HeChaLou was founded in Taiwan in 2020 and has since grown into an international franchise with locations in the United States and Australia, with an expansion into Malaysia planned.

The company describes its approach as centered on “easy-to-sip” teas that stay close to tea’s traditional character, smooth and naturally sweet, while incorporating modern touches like the signature jelly to appeal to current tastes.
