The Boys and Girls Club is hosting their annual BE a Smart Girl Luncheon on September 21st.
Be a Smart Girl is a comprehensive programming strategy for female Boys and Girls Club members that addresses three program areas: academic success, good character, and leadership and healthy lifestyles. Programs include; STEAM (access to science, technology, engineering, art and math) curriculum through their partners like GIRLSTART, one-on-one academic tutoring, discussions about healthy relationships and positive choices, and mentoring with adult female role models. The goal is for every girl to find their voice, find their passion and pursue it, take control of their health and more.
The community can get involved with this cause through volunteering, sharing your career story with the girls at one of the Clubs, sponsorships, and financially investing in the program.
Be a Smart Girl Luncheon is taking place at Ascend Prime Steak and Sushi restaurant from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, September 21st.
Please visit their website for further information about the program.
