News Magazine Show Takes a Look Back at the “State of the City” this Past Year in Bellevue

Lake to Lake, produced by Bellevue Television and available on Cable Channel 21, recently discussed this past year’s challenges and triumphs. According to the City of Bellevue, Mayor Lynne Robinson and Deputy Mayor Jared Nieuwenhuis discuss recovery in Bellevue.

The Mayor and Deputy Mayor also talk about excerpts from the televised May 24 “State of the City” discussion with Patrick Bannon, president of the Bellevue Downtown Association.

Some highlights that were discussed include:

  • Payroll Protection Program: loans helped 6,351 Bellevue businesses by receiving $869M in total
  • Al fresco dining program launched with community partners May 20
  • Bellevue distributed $660k in direct relief grants to 122 businesses and support organizations
  • 196 businesses helped through technical assistance program
  • Investments in technology for 5G Connectivity and smart water usage
  • $7.7M in levy funding for transportation safety, connectivity, and congestion relief projects
  • Investing $5M over seven years on Neighborhood Enhancement Program, plus new donations from business community
  • 1000 yard signs produced for citywide anti-hate campaign
  • East Link 95% complete; set to open in 2023
  • More than $7 million spent in 2020 on community partnerships for human services
