Bellevue Ranks Second for Highest Rental Costs in Recent Report

While Bellevue has consistently ranked in first place for Zumper’s rental reports for the Greater Seattle Metro area, it recently fell to second place. The real estate platform analyzed active listings in the month of September across metro cities to show the most and least expensive cities, and cities with the fastest growing rents.

The city of Bellevue ranked in second place with a one bedroom apartment having a median price of $2,280 and a two bedroom apartment having a median price of $2,890. Month over month, rent is down 2.6% for a one-bedroom and down 3.3% for a two-bedroom.

Kirkland took first place for most expensive rent with a median price of $2,340 for a one-bedroom and $2,670 for a two-bedroom. The cities of Redmond, Issaquah, and Seattle, follow after that.

The fastest growing cities year over year were Seatac, Port Angeles, and Shoreline, while the fastest growing cities month over month were Seatac, Tacoma, and Oak Harbor.

The least expensive cities in the Greater Seattle Metro area were Port Angeles with a one-bedroom priced at $1,200, Wenatchee, with rent at $1,230, and Lakewood with rent costing $1,300.

The listings for the report are aggregated by city to calculate median asking rents.
