Microsoft has opted to relinquish additional office space in Bellevue, with plans to let go of additional square footage at the Lincoln Square North Tower. According to the Broderick Group, who is representing the property, a total of 442,376 square feet across floors nine through 28 will become available in the tower situated at 10401 Northeast 8th Street.
Owned by the Kemper Development Company at The Bellevue Collection, this space, currently occupied by Microsoft, is set to be vacated as part of the tech giant’s ongoing real estate adjustments. This move follows a series of similar decisions by the company concerning its leased spaces in the Bellevue area.
The decision to forgo the office space at Lincoln Square North Tower comes on the heels of Microsoft confirming earlier in September 2023 that they would not be renewing their lease at The Bravern, located at 11155 Northeast 8th Street. This location, the company’s largest office space in Downtown Bellevue, has been a significant part of their operations.
Previously, in July 2022, Microsoft announced the non-renewal of their lease at the Advanta Office Commons. This space, totaling 585,000 square feet and representing almost 11% of the I-90 corridor submarket, expired in September 2023, impacting their footprint in the region.
The tech giant is set to let go of their lease at City Center Plaza, currently occupying a 26-story space spanning over 561,000 square feet, with the lease due to expire in June 2024.
Despite this downsizing initiative, Microsoft remains committed to maintaining its presence in the City of Bellevue. Their decision to relinquish over two million square feet of leased office space aligns with ongoing renovations at their Redmond campus. The project includes the construction of 17 new buildings, collectively offering over three million square feet of space, intended to accommodate an additional 8,000 employees.

Even the casual observer will note Microsoft’s
