Target recently announced that they will be offering a new add on service to Drive Up. Customers can now have Starbucks delivered to their car.

According to a Target press release, “Target’s free Drive Up service will allow guests in Seattle to add their favorite Starbucks menu items to their Drive Up order and have it delivered straight to their car.”

Starbucks has been in partnership with Target for more than 20 years. The new available service is an example of Target’s continued investment in same-day services and dedication to delivering what guests want.

This service has been successful in other markets where it has launched. The three top-selling items for Drive Up with Starbucks are the Iced Brown Sugar Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, Birthday Cake Pop, and Iced Caramel Macchiato.

The goal is for all 1,700 Target stores to have a Starbucks Cafe and Drive Up Starbucks service by October 2023.

“Our guests have long told us Drive Up is a game-changer, adding convenience to their daily life, especially when they’re short on time,” said Mark Schindele, chief stores officer, Target. “We’ve continued listening to our guests, who’ve told us overwhelmingly that Drive Up with Starbucks would bring even more ease and joy to every Target run. This one-of-a-kind service – available only at Target – is the latest example of how we’re innovating every day to meet the needs of our guests.”

Adding a Starbucks purchase to be delivered with a Drive Up order is simple – here’s how:

* After a guest places a Drive Up order at a participating Target store and receives notification that it’s ready to pick up, they will indicate they are on the way in the Target app.
* The guest will then receive a prompt in the app to place a beverage or food order from the Starbucks Café menu. They make their Starbucks selection, click “Add for Drive Up” and pay for the order.
* The guest parks in the Drive Up parking area and taps “I’m here” in the Target app. A Target team member then delivers the freshly prepared Starbucks order — along with the guest’s Drive Up purchase — to their car.

Target launched returns with Drive Up service in May 2023 at both Bellevue locations due to popular customer feedback.

The Wilburton Village Target opened in October 2020. It is approximately 49,000 square feet and is the third small-format location and 24th store in the Seattle area to open for business.

  1. This must be why the Target and Dave and Busters haven’t been accessible for two months. No elevator in service. They’re removing handicapped parking possibly for this Starbucks Service. Would be nice to start the elevator up again soon. It’s more than an inconvenience at the Wilburton location.

  2. It’s interesting to note at least two businesses in Bellevue are adding or expanding their drive through capacity and offerings, while the City of Bellevue is actively working towards removing driving lanes through the Bike Bellevue proposal. https://bellevuewa.gov/city-government/departments/transportation/planning/pedestrian-and-bicycle-planning/pedestrian-bicycle-implementation-initiative/bike-bellevue
